Most saliva drug tests can detect usage up to 1-2 days prior to testing

Most saliva drug tests can detect usage up to 2 days prior to testing. Our team will collect a sample through a mouth swab, and it’s recommended the donor avoid food and beverages for at least 10 minutes prior to testing. We can also provide urine and alcohol breath tests, or we can supply you with the necessary testing devices and products, if you are qualified to conduct your own tests.

At QTTS, we respect the privacy of our clients, and will always ensure your testing results remain confidential. Our team works efficiently and professionally at all times, to ensure minimal disturbance in the workplace.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Which is better, saliva or urine testing?

Saliva testing can detect more recent drug use, but merely shows the presence of drugs and not how much has been consumed. Urine testing can often provide more accurate results, but can take longer to analyse.

  • Why do drugs affect people differently?

People have different metabolic rates, which means they can break down drugs at different speeds. Even if two people consume the same amount of drugs at the same time, it can affect them differently.

  • What causes false positive drug tests?

False positive results are common and can be caused by prescription medications or other over-the-counter medications. It’s important to notify your employer of your regular medications to avoid false positive results.

  • What is used for saliva drug tests?

Saliva drug tests are conducted with a cotton mouth swab, and results will only take a few minutes.
